It was obvious that Paris Hilton was going to be the target to Sarah Silverman's jokes at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards. Sure in shit it happened! Sarah took some shots at Hilton during the show.
She told the audience, "In a couple of days, Paris Hilton is going to jail."
"The judge says that it's going to be a no-frills thing and that is ridiculous. She is totally going to get special treatment," Silverman said.
"As a matter of fact, I heard that to make her feel more comfortable in prison, the guards are going to paint the bars to look like penises. I think it's wrong, too. I just worry that she's going to break her teeth on those things."
What do you guys think, did she go a little too far or was it hilarious?

im not much of a fan of paris..but she has feelings just like everyone else, and to make people laugh at someone's expense is really mean and unnecessary..paris looked like she was almost going to cry!

It was completely unnecessary to be that blunt.

I thought it was hilarious, maybe a little over the line zooming in on paris after the comments, but who the fuck goes to an awards show the day before serving jail time.

I think Paris opened herself up to be a prime comic relief, but the jokes were off. Does Paris have a thing about going down? I think Sara had every right to make a joke or two but they weren't that good and delivery was poor. For that matter the same joke could be made by substituting Sara's name in place of Paris. Poor Host, Bad Material.

I definitely think Sarah went too far with her jokes. In my opinion, she wasn't funny at all. Those of you who thought the Paris joke was funny must not have a heart at all. I'm not a big Paris fan, but I do feel for for her. It was really brave of her to go out like that knowing she would be under fire. Stay strong Paris!!

I agree. She went too far. Her jokes were lame. Why did they pick her to host the MTV awards? What a mistake. I actually felt bad for Paris.

Sarah Silverman sucks!! She is not even funny. For the last three years, MTV has been failing us with getting lame ass people to host those awards. Oh the Paris comment was totally inappropriate. My kids did not need to hear that.

I thought her jokes were stupid!! I really never thought much about Sarah Silverman. I guess all the good comedians must have been unavailable.

i think the jokes were way over top, sarah is not all that good herself she's has no positive affects on this world either, and that was really rude. shes just a loser looking for something to do, i hate sarah silverman i hope mtv got the worst ratings for that show. and paris hilton isnt the only star. i think we should build them up instead of putting them down, these are what are children watch, set an example not by making rude and hurtfull jokes. paris, lindsay, britney, nicloe, all did something to bump them the wrong way but dont put them down.

SARAH SILVERMAN SUCKSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i don't think sara silverman is funny anyway, and i'm also not a big fan of paris. but after what happened tonight, i feel sorry for her. she's going to jail, like she should. she's not this horrible monster of a person, she didn't ask to be born rich, and its not her fault our media/society focuses on fake celebrities instead of real issues. hate the system, not the victim. and it was obvious she was holding in from crying. its just rude.

Everyone who thinks this wasn't funny is a moron. She brought this upon herself. This dumb cunt shouldn't even be at an awards show, what has she done?
Posted by: Erik on 06/03/2007 08:54 PM
The comments were very mean; I am not paris hilton's fan but I admire her courage !! for appearing and facing these awful moments. Sarah proved she does not have talent as a comedian by cracking poor jokes.. M TV awards : Cheap Show , there was no necessity to allow those unwanted comments. Villagers host much better live shows in India. -Kavya

I totally agree with you Michael. She was over the top. She did not have to put Lindsay & Paris down like that.

i love what sarah silverman did! that was really really great! if i was there it would really be the best night i ever had in my entire life!

Wow, I guess a lot of you folks haven't heard about a little thing called irony. Sarah Silverman was the only high point in a night of awkward pauses, intoxicated guests and lame "spoofs" (I use scare quotes because only one of the three entries even qualifies as a spoof). Silverman embraces potty humor and racism for comedic effect, and it's very carefully done. It's a very deconstructed kind of comedy that a lot of other comedians try to imitate but fail miserably (which is where you get crass humor for the sake of crass humor, which I do object to). And frankly, Paris Hilton is one of the least valuable members of the public sphere, and that's really saying something. The laughter and cheering when Silverman just MENTIONED Hilton's jail time made my whole night. The only real criticism I've heard here that holds up is that Silverman's joke wasn't appropriate for young kids, and that's true. But for those of us in the 18-34 demographic it's age appropriate humor. So you can say it's inappropriate for kids, but you can't say it's not funny!

I thought she had more balls than most comedians and the only reason she is hated on is cos shes a chick. If she were a man it might be different. I think Sara Silverman is a hottie
Posted by: Steve on 06/03/2007 09:02 PM
that was soo uncalled for.
Posted by: aaaa on 06/03/2007 09:04 PM
You guys are the same people that were cheering when Paris got sentenced. So Silverman makes fun of her? We all did the day the judge made the ruling. Who are you to say "she went too far"?
Posted by: Steve on 06/03/2007 09:06 PM
How did Paris get "famous" in the first place? A sex tape that she made with her douche boyfriend. But i guess all the "poor paris" supporters forgot that. This joke was right on the money. Sarah Silverman rocks the Kasbah!
Posted by: vt on 06/03/2007 09:07 PM
she looked like she about to cry
Posted by: fart on 06/03/2007 09:11 PM
whatever your opinion is of Silverman, the joke was funny. and its about damn time she is more recognized for the worthless human being that she really is
Posted by: right on 06/03/2007 09:12 PM
she did look like she was about to cry, i dont like the girl, but damn that was fuckin cruel..not just sarah's jokes, but the whole crowd..the girl is hated by all those people and the rest of america..it must have been a really horrible night for paris..lets give the girl a break
Posted by: melika on 06/03/2007 09:12 PM
i totally agree melika. you were right on the dot with that comment.

Fuck paris hilton that shit was funny
Posted by: haha on 06/03/2007 09:19 PM
That was HiLaRiOuS!! Paris deserves it.. she's an idiot. most everyone there laughed... it WAS funny
Posted by: Kristin on 06/03/2007 09:21 PM
I think everyone forgets what kind of person Paris Hilton is. Has anyone else seen smoking pot, snorting coke, filming herself having sex or just being a snobby bitch that doesn't care for anyone elses feelings? Come on, why should anyone feel bad for this girl? I'm sure Paris Hilton has said a lot worse things behind someone's back than what Sara stood up on stage and said about Paris. And most likely, Sara wasn't even the one who wrote it, it was most likely a writer at MTV, not to mention there were plenty of people that probably had to approve the script ahead of time, so if you going to place blame on someone, make sure you mention everyone.

MTV.com网站新闻描述:
Paris Hilton Talks About Jail Before Turning Herself In: 'I'm Obviously A Little Scared'Paris Hilton smiled and hugged MTV News' SuChin Pak on the MTV Movie Awards red carpet, where the most famous party girl in the U.S. made a surprise appearance Sunday night (June 3), hours before she reported to Los Angeles County Jail for a 23-day sentence stemming from a probation violation.
Hilton told Pak that she's "doing OK, I'm obviously a little scared right now." Speaking in a poised, calm manner, Hilton explained that she hopes her jail time will inspire other young people to think about their actions and make good decisions. "These last couple of weeks have been a lot of time for self-reflection on my life and realizing what's important."
[Ed. Note: For more on Paris Hilton going to jail a day and a half early, read "Paris Hilton Turns Herself In To Authorities."]
However, it was a far different scene inside Universal City, California's Gibson Amphitheatre, where host Sarah Silverman opened up the show with a few jokes at Hilton's expense, acting as though she wasn't aware the heiress was indeed in the house.
In one of the most awkward moments in MTV Movie Awards history, five minutes into her monologue, Silverman said, "In a couple of days, Paris Hilton is going to jail," a factual statement that was greeted with cheers. The camera cut to Hilton, who looked a little concerned, but composed. Silverman continued her bit, implying that Hilton would receive special treatment despite the judge's promise that her time in prison will be frills-free.
"I heard to make her feel more comfortable in prison the guards are going to paint the bars to look like p----es. ... I'm just worried she's going to break her teeth on those things," Silverman said.
Hilton twitched uncomfortably in her seat and forced a smile as the crowd twittered and laughed. Jack Nicholson, who was seated near Hilton, took a swig from his water bottle, and for a few fleeting seconds, Hilton became an object of true sympathy. Just before the uncomfortable remarks, Silverman took a few jabs at Lindsay Lohan, but the comic could at least be certain that that embattled star who's also had some troubles behind the wheel wasn't in attendance (see "Lindsay Lohan Checks Into Rehab: Report").
Hilton was arrested for driving under the influence last September and was issued probation, which she violated several times by driving with a suspended license. The 26-year-old socialite reported to the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, California, on Monday — a day and a half before she was set to turn herself in.
Hilton told Pak she's been lying low and not going out as much lately, but came to the Movie Awards as a last hurrah. "I love the Movie Awards," she said before the show began. "It's fun. I wanted to do something nice before I went off."

MTV Movie Awards Get Dirty: Baron Cohen, Ferrell Mash; Rihanna Sizzles; Silverman Says 'Bleep!'
Show was less about awards and more about moments.By now, you know the formula for the typical Hollywood awards show: Take a red carpet, add some diamond-encrusted dresses, a few golden statuettes and a handful of fairly awkward political appeals and/or acceptance speeches, bake for four-plus hours, sit back and try to enjoy.
By that standard — or any standard, for that matter — the 2007 MTV Movie Awards were not your typical glitzy soiree (though Jack Nicholson was there, front and center and randy as ever). Rather, they were a wonderfully profane, incredibly irreverent goof on the staid Hollywood system, a full-blown, Spartan-esque assault led by potty-mouthed host Sarah Silverman and bolstered by a whole lot of jaw-dropping, sure-to-be blogged-about moments.
Like, for example, a skin-crawlingly awkward Paris-Hilton-goes-to-jail joke lobbed by Miss Silverman during her opening monologue that was met with silence from Hilton (see "Paris Hilton Talks About Jail: 'I'm Obviously A Little Scared' ") and a whole lot of catcalls from the audience. (Note: this probably marked the first time in history that a majority of the U.S. population felt sorry for Paris Hilton — for a few seconds, anyway.)
...
我不禁想到《狗镇Dogville》里父亲对女儿提到的傲慢。
GRACE: So I’m arrogant; I’m arrogant because I forgive people?
BIG MAN: My God! Can’t you see how condescending you are when you say that? You have this preconceived notion that nobody – listen – nobody can possibly attain the same high ethical standards as you, so you exonerate them. I cannot – I cannot think of anything more arrogant than that. You my child, my dear child, forgive others with excuses that you would never in the world permit for yourself. (Ch. 9)
